How to plan for unpredictable weather for your Santa photos

One thing we’ve learned over the past 8 years of outdoor Christmas photos is that you can’t trust the forecast! We’ve cancelled sessions that turned into sunshine and been poured on when told there was a 0% chance of precipitation.

Due to limited weekends available to reschedule your Santa on the Beach photos, we aim to go ahead in most weather conditions. However, please note that we we will never go ahead if it is dangerous (eg. lighting/thunder), high winds or heavy persistent rain! In that situation, we will cancel the session and update our socials (Facebook and Instagram) and emails with options to reschedule, transfer or refund your booking. No refunds are for no shows if the session goes ahead.

The best thing to do if the weather is iffy, is to be prepared! Here are a few tips to help you plan if the weather isn’t looking perfect for your Santa photos:

TIP 1: Have an open mind

Firstly, come with an open mind and enjoy the experience - no matter what you get! It’s about the experience as much as the photo, and we’ll do our very best to make sure you have a great one.

TIP 2: Pics can be great in all conditions

Cloudy days can create magic photos - you often can’t even tell in the photos that it was raining. People are often pleasantly surprised when they see their pics from a rainy day and you can’t even see a drop of rain in sight! Plus, you’ll get a nice empty beach background too :)

TIP 3: Bring and wear the right gear

We’ll have a gazebo to wait under at each session, but bring your own umbrellas too. You can wear a rain jacket over your Santa photo outfit, and take it off for just a few minutes while you have your photos. That’s the benefit of our fast 5 min sessions!

TIP 4: Timing

Arrive on time so you’re not waiting around on the beach. Another benefit of ‘less than perfetct’ days is the carparks aren’t as busy!
