In 2018, there were two options to have beach Santa photos on the Northern Beaches, but neither were dog-friendly. With two young kids plus two British Bulldogs that ruled our family, I couldn’t have a Christmas photo without everyone! So in November 2018, I found a photographer, built a website and put my business skills to the test and launched Santa on the Beach Pics in just 2 weeks.
What started as a seasonal side gig quickly escalated into a little more than that - turns out lots of us dog people want Santa photos with ALL the family!
Fast forward to today, and Santa on the Beach Pics now runs in multiple locations around Australia, has a team of incredibly talented photographers and thousands of happy families with the most Aussie Christmas photos to share.
I am so grateful to the families who return each year and have watched this little business ‘grow up’ over the years! To all the new families trusting us with your Christmas photos for the first time, we hope you enjoy the experience as much as we enjoy creating it. I've been a professional photographer for over 20 years and run my own photography business, Images by Sophie. I first picked up a camera for Santa on the Beach Pics in 2022 and was hooked from day one. With dogs and kids of my own, I knew exactly what I was getting into — organised chaos that somehow looks beautiful in photos.
In 2025 I joined Gill as co-owner and we took the business national together. Alongside running sessions, I train all of our photographers so every family gets the same quality experience all around Australia. On session days you'll find me keeping things moving, keeping spirits high and making sure everything runs like clockwork - no matter what the weather, the kids or the dogs decide to do!
In my spare time, I’m a running coach and ultra-runner, so you can guarantee I won’t run out of steam even during the thick of the silly season! I love what I do and can’t wait to bring the energy to the beach each season.
